New England Match Best Victory Run Since Tom Brady Era with Win Over New York Jets

Rookie Henderson has recorded five touchdowns in the present year

New England equaled their longest winning run from the Tom Brady period as they overcame division opponents the Jets by 13 points in the NFL

First-year standout Henderson led the way with three touchdowns as the Patriots claimed an eighth straight win for the initial occasion since legendary quarterback Tom Brady's last year with the franchise in 2019

Signal-caller Maye accumulated 281 passing yards and a TD, connecting on 25 out of 34 attempts

The triumph extends the New England's advantage at the top of the AFC East as they advanced to nine wins and two defeats, with the New York bottom after slipping to two wins and eight losses

The visitors had gone in front at their home field with QB Fields scoring a short rushing score to cap the Jets' first possession

But the New England responded in the second period as Henderson rushed for two short rushing scores before the running back hauled in a throw from Drake Maye at the back of the end zone halfway into the third period to push the score to 21 to 7

"That was a crucial moment for him delivering, and it's been fantastic for him to keep gaining experience," Maye commented on the rookie. "He aims to be outstanding."

Justin Fields connected with John Metchie toward the end of the third quarter to close the gap for the Jets but Borregales converted a two field goals in the final period as the Patriots closed out the victory
